What is a Professional Organizer?

A Professional Organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems using organizational principles and through transferring organizational skills. A Professional Organizer evaluates situations and devises individual strategies for your unique needs. A Professional Organizer is not a cleaning service. A Professional Organizer is not an assistant. A Professional Organizer sets up systems and introduces only those organizing products needed to maintain your space on a permanent basis.

After working with a Professional Organizer you will find that you have

  • Decreased Stress
  • Increased Productivity
  • Improved Environments
  • Found Time to Pursue Your Goals
  • Additional Opportunities to Spend With Your Family and Friends

What can I expect when working with a Professional Organizer?

Professional Organizers provide expertise and recommendations to teach you new habits and processes to stay organized. I work with you to discover what works best for you and your lifestyle. There is no standardized process – we will find what process works for you! Together we will work to:

  • Address The Reasons Behind The Clutter
  • Assess Your Needs
  • Choose The Right Tools To Implement Your Processes
  • Teach You The Processes So They Become Habitual

What can I expect when working with a fresh start?

My mission is to develop effective organizational systems that will be simple to maintain and able to grow with your changing needs.

Together we will:

  • Reduce all forms of clutter
  • Rid of things that waste time, space and energy
  • Create a system that makes every day jobs easier
  • Develop effective routines and standardized procedures
  • Reduce the amount of time and energy spent on routine tasks

We will conduct a thorough on-site assessment of your space and create a customized action plan for your needs. I will provide you with an esimate for the services required to complete your project to give you a fresh start.

How long does the organizing process take?

There are no quick means to calculate a project timetable, but there are a few guidelines to estimate our time. Mostly, the key component to working efficiently is you. For example, how ready are you to let go of items? How quickly will you make decisions? How many people will you provide to help? How emotional will it be for you to go through your things? How much homework are you willing to do between sessions? I will do my best to keep the process moving efficiently to keep the costs down.

Do I need to be there during the organizing process?

In order to establish procedures and systems to best suit your needs, I will need your input. While sorting and making decisions, it is very important to work together to find what you value and find dear to your heart. There will be times when items are being put away when your participation is not necessary. If you do not feel it necessary to participate, I will work on a “makeover” basis, in which very little participation is necessary, but you must be aware that I may not find the same “treasures” that you would.

Testimonial

My husband I didn't think we needed a professional organizer to help us with our home office.  But before we knew it, 2 years had passed and the office had gotten worse--a complete disaster area.  I scheduled time with Gail and I have been more than happy with the results!  Not only did she help me get organized, but she taught me a number of skills and tactics to stay organized.  My husband and I are now able to both spend more time in our home office without being distracted by clutter.
